OAC PATHWAYS invites new models of design, architecture, and planning practice.

Over the course of 10 weeks, an interdisciplinary cohort meets weekly to skill up, build community, and chart a course for their practice.

Our goal is to create transformative learning experiences, shifting the built environment towards belonging

Learning Modules

  • What are the histories of injustice and racism in architecture and design fields, and how can we play a role in changing those patterns?

  • What are tactics and tools for a community-based practice? How can equity be both a means and an end?

  • How do you sustain your wellness in design practice and community engagement?

  • How can we implement community design principles into practice? What are best practices of community engagement in these turbulent times?

Apply by July 8 for our 11th cohort of OAC Pathways

Program Dates: August 12th - October 14th

"I absolutely loved my time in the OAC Pathways program. It was transformative, expansive, and helped me build community with individuals who deeply aligned with my values and my passion for building belonging in the built environment. It reminded me that when design is rooted in equity and care, it becomes a powerful force for connection and collective impact."

Jenine Kotob, AIA, NOMA

"Pathways allowed me to be my authentic self, challenging me to show up to work as a whole person. I learned that while I carry the title architect, I should also celebrate my myriad identities as a spouse, friend, sister, foodie, Muslim, Arab, woman, etc. Pathways taught me to shed the uniform of expert and to strive to be my whole, human self, especially, when partnering with communities on design projects. I am grateful for the Pathways experience, which has completely transformed my career and life. I wouldn't be where I am today without it.”
